The lowdown:
Now established as one of the favourite rosé Champagnes of all Cuvée Rosé was, in fact, first created as recently as 1968. Using 100% Pinot Noir grapes which are macerated for between 48 and 72 hours to allow just the right level if colour to be extracted it's, after vinification and blending, aged for a minimum of five years. It reveals the full aromatic richness of Pinot Noir and is precise and intensely fruity with lots of ripe and crisp strawberry, raspberry and wild cherry flavours.
The Producer:
Founded in 1812 by Alphonse Pierlot, a cooper and bottler in Tours-sur-Marne, Champagne House Laurent-Perrier has a distinguished history. It acquired its current name when Pierlot's cellar master, Eugene Laurent, and his wife, Mathilde Perrier, took the helm. In 1939, Marie-Louise de Nonancourt purchased the then modest business, which remains family-owned to this day. Under the visionary leadership of Bernard de Nonancourt post-WWII, Laurent-Perrier established its distinctive house style and developed a diverse range of champagnes. Today, Laurent-Perrier is celebrated worldwide for its exceptional quality and elegant offerings, securing its place among the premier Champagne producers.

An ever popular Champagne it makes for a delicious aperitif, or partner to a host of things like smoked salmon, poulty and fruit desserts.
